Early Life & Education
Farhan Akhtar was born into a family deeply rooted in the Indian film industry. His father, Javed Akhtar, is a renowned poet and screenwriter, while his mother, Honey Irani, is a screenwriter. His elder sister, Zoya Akhtar, is a filmmaker.
He attended Maneckji Cooper School in Mumbai and later studied at HR College of Commerce and Economics. However, he dropped out before completing his degree and started working in the film industry.
Career
As a Director & Writer
Farhan Akhtar made his directorial debut with Dil Chahta Hai (2001), a coming-of-age film that redefined Bollywood storytelling. It was critically acclaimed and became a cult classic.
Following this success, he directed:
