Huma Qureshi was born and raised in New Delhi in a Muslim family. Her father, Saleem Qureshi, is a restaurateur who owns a chain of restaurants called Saleem’s. Her mother, Ameena Qureshi, is a homemaker. She has three brothers, including actor Saqib Saleem.
Huma completed her schooling at Gargi College, University of Delhi, with a major in History. During her college years, she actively participated in theatre and later joined Act 1 theatre group, where she trained under director N. K. Sharma.
She moved to Mumbai in 2008 to pursue a career in acting, starting with modeling and television commercials.
